- W2912530192 abstract "The concept of security ecosystems is introduced to explain that the impact of mobile systems needs to be considered in the context of all the other devices with which they interact, particularly with the rise of IoT and the explosion in the number of sensors in the environment. Previously constrained to the desktop, professionals who interact with modern electronic security systems are freed from their desks yet retain the same richness of data, command, and control. As every major security event reminds us, the ubiquity and connectivity of mobile networks are an indispensable tool in emergency response. Mobile credentials are examined in greater detail and compared with more widespread credential technologies used in, for example, financial payments systems. The topic of technology standards is addressed, with a call for the industry to adopt such standards for mobile credentials before “the genie is out of the bottle,” and users are forced to use dozens of mobile apps to get into all of the personal and commercial properties that will soon be equipped with mobile credentials. The displacement of older technologies such as key cards and key fobs is discussed." @default.
