- W2912530197 abstract "The language acquisition is one of the most remarkable developments of early childhood. At this phase, children are in golden age in which early years are recognized as the foundation years for child development especially in language.However, teaching English to children differs from adult. It requires different approaches and strategies to get them excited in learning English.This is a single case study concerned on observing English exposure given by the parents to their toddler.This present research employed qualitative design, and to validate the research data, the writer also applied triangulation method. A three-year-old child and his parents were recruited as research subjects, while the child's teacher was recruited as triangulation source. The data were collected through interview and observation. The parents were interviewed to obtain the data of how they expose their child to English, while the child was observed to see how his responses to the given exposures, and the teacher was also interviewed to get the data of child's performance at school.This research result revealed that the parents applied five strategies and four media in exposing their child to English. Those media are natural environment objects, English video, visual media, and everyday objects at home. Meanwhile, those strategies are authentic learning, total physical response, probing question making, role play, and positive reinforcement. Further, the child enthusiastically responded to those exposures given by his parents, and he successfully acquired some daily English vocabularies. In addition, the triangulation data showed that he had good performances at school and obtained good marks." @default.
