- W2912794217 abstract "The Eu3+-activated BiF3 nanoparticles with high luminescent efficiency were successfully synthesized via a low temperature ethylene glycol assisted chemical precipitation method. All the resultant samples can be efficiently excited by near-ultraviolet (NUV) light and emit visible emissions corresponding to the 4f-4f transition of Eu3+ ions. The optimal doping concentration of the Eu3+ ions in the BiF3 host material was 15 mol% and the dipole-dipole interaction contributed to the concentration quenching mechanism. The internal quantum efficiency of the studied compounds reached up to 83.5%. Furthermore, the thermal quenching behaviors of the resultant nanoparticles were systematically investigated by analyzing the temperature-dependent photoluminescence emission spectra. With the aid of Judd-Ofelt theory, we performed a theoretical calculation and the optical transition parameters were estimated so as to identify the local structure environment properties surrounding the dopants in the selected host lattices. Through integrating the fabricated nanoparticles with a NUV chip, commercial blue-emitting and green-emitting compounds, a light-emitting diode device was achieved, which can emit dazzling white light and its color rendering index and correlated color temperature were 90.7 and 6530 K, respectively.
