• W2912893258 abstract "Herein, cobalt hexaferrite nanoparticles were synthesized for the first time using natural reducing agents (carbohydrates and pigments) by sol-gel method. Various parameters such as kind of reducing agent and amount of it along with time and temperature of calcination were known as effective parameters on morphology, size and purity of products. Then, carbon-based nanocomposites including graphene and CNT were prepared and the different properties of them were compared to pure nanoparticles. The products were characterized by SEM, TEM, XRD, EDS, XPS, CV, VSM and DRS. The band gap calculated by DRS showed that these products can be active photocatalytically. So, degradation of MO was investigated in presence of the as-prepared products under UV irradiation. According to the results, photocatalytic activity of products can be arranged as graphene-based nanocomposite > CNT-based nanocomposite > pure nanoparticles. Accordingly, it may be related to the unique structure and specific surface area of graphene (2D) and maybe CNT (1D). Kinetics studies showed that photocatalytic reactions in presence of pure nanoparticles and CNT-based nanocomposites followed by pseudo-first order but in presence of graphene-based nanocomposites followed by zero order which indicates saturation of graphene surface with MO as organic pollutant through physical absorption." @default.
