• W2913301610 abstract "Technical planning methodologies applied to electrical distribution networks generally consider that distribution network operators (DNOs) have no control over the active power dispatched by distributed generation units (DGs), and there is no injection of reactive power into the electrical distribution network from DGs. In this way, a methodology to improve electrical distribution network performance exploring DGs reactive power dispatch capability was presented in a previous work. In such methodology, based on sensitivity matrices, electrical distribution networks are divided in clusters and each cluster receives a DG setpoint, defined without online communications between DGs and DNOs (defined as Pre-Smart Grid Environment). However, some improvements can be implemented in the previous proposed methodology. Therefore, this paper proposes to explore new dimensions of the technical planning process with DGs in a Pre-Smart Grid Environment, previously not addressed in the literature: the determination of an ideal value for reactive power variation, in the sensitivity matrices construction; the influence of the feeder’s load in the sensitivity matrices/indexes construction; the adoption of a non-uniform DGs spatial distribution and the adoption of non-constant load profiles.
