- W2923173816 abstract "The absolute electronic structure of nanopowders was determined using a combination of two spectroscopic methods: UPS and UV-Vis absorption. The study was conducted with manly TiO2-base materials. UPS provides the absolute energy level of the valence band maximum, the highest occupied energy level. Two ways to prepare the sample are discussed. The band gap was determined using the UV-Vis absorption. Combination of valence band maximum and band gap provide the conduction band minum. The absolute electronic structure was thus determined for rutile and anatase TiO2 phases and interpretation were made on their photocatalytic activity. Some conclusions were also made for another photocatalytic material, nickel sulfide supported on TiO2." @default.
