This type of research is a library research using a qualitative descriptive analytical approach. The researcher found that the concept of moral education with the concept of character education had differences. The scope of character education is centered on the relationship between human beings and creatures, while moral education is centered on human relations with human beings and creatures. Moral education aims to get closer to God Almighty and reach happiness in the hereafter. while character education aims to make someone smart and good. Moral formation factor is divided into two, internal and external influences. Likewise, there are two character formation factors, influenced by internal and external factors. The method of moral education is exemplary, habits, advice, attention or supervision of punishment or reward. Masalah karakter merupakan masalah yang sangat penting, melihat kondisi manusia saat ini. kebobrokan moral bangsa, maraknya tindak kekerasan dan perilaku buruk lainnya. Akhlak dan karakter adalah dua hal yang sangat penting dalam pendidikan. Penelitian ini mengacu pada konsep pendidikan akhlak dan konsep pendidikan karakter yang dikemukakan oleh Thomas Lickona. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan konsep pendidikan akhlak, dan konsep pendidikan karakter menurut Thomas Lickona serta menganalisis konsep pendidikan akhlak terhadap konsep pendidikan karakter menurut Thomas Lickona. Jenis penelitian ini adalah library research menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif metode deskriptif analitik. Peneliti menemukan bahwa konsep pendidikan akhlak dengan konsep pendidikan karakter memiliki perbedaan. Ruang lingkup pendidikan karakter berpusat pada hubungan manusia dengan makhluk, sedangkan pendidikan akhlak berpusat pada hubungan manusia dengan khalik dan hubungan manusia dengan makhluk. Pendidikan akhlak bertujuan untuk mendekatkan diri kepada Allah swt dan menggapai kebahagiaan dunia akhirat. sedangkan pendidikan karakter bertujuan untuk menjadikan seseorang cerdas dan baik. Faktor pembentukan akhlak dibagi menjadi dua, pengaruh intern dan ekstern. Begitu pula faktor pembentukan karakter terdapat dua, dipengaruhi oleh faktor intern dan ekstern. Metode pendidikan akhlak ialah adanya keteladanan, kebiasaan, nasihat, perhatian atau pengawasan hukuman atau ganjaran. Sedangkan metode pendidikan karakter adalah dengan cara pemahaman, pemotivasian, pembiasaan, keteladan dan hukuman atau ganjaran. Kata kunci: Konsep, Pendidikan, Akhlak, Karakter" @default.
