- W2925242005 abstract "Abstract Chemical compounds bearing boron element have been included in more distinguished works with its increasing importance. In this work, boronic Schiff base compounds were synthesized from various amino acids and amino acid analogues. The nomenclatures of obtained structures can be presented as; (E)-3-((4-boronobenzylidene)amino)-3-((carboxymethyl)thio)propanoic acid (1); (E)-2-((4-boronobenzylidene)amino)terephthalic acid (2); (E)-2-((3-boronobenzylidene)amino)-4-methylpentanoic acid (3); (E)-2-((4-boronobenzylidene)amino)-4-methylpentanoic acid (4). The obtained boron compounds were characterized by a number of physical and chemical methods such FTIR, UV–Vis., 1H NMR, SEM-EDX, and TGA. Then the identified compounds were employed on Ishikawa endometrial cancer cells to investigate their cell viabilities. The expected results were evaluated by cytotoxic effects on cancer cell lines. For this purpose, solutions of the compounds were prepared at different concentrations (50 μM, 100 μM, 500 μM, and 1 mM) and applied according to the biological process. It has been found that all boron-containing compounds controllably killed cancer cells in different percentages. In addition to the anticancer application of boron-bearing molecules, the antioxidant activity was examined according to various reference substances such as BHT (Butylated hydroxy toluene), α-Toc (alpha-Tocopherol) and BHA (butylated hydroxy anisole). Significant properties were obtained from antioxidant investigations which applied by different methods such ABTS (2,2′-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid) Cation Radical Activity, DPPH (2,2-diphenyl picryl hydrazyl) Free Radical Activity, and CUPRAC (Cupric reducing antioxidant capacity)." @default.
