- W2937793577 abstract "In this work, we study the transmittance spectrum in Fibonacci quasi-periodic one-dimensional photonic crystals comprising a superconducting material (HgBa2Ca2Cu3O8+δ) and semiconducting material (GaAs). This study considers the dependence of the dielectric constant of the semiconductor on both hydrostatic pressure and temperature. However, the critical temperature of the superconductor and thickness of the semiconductor layer only depend on the applied pressure. Furthermore, using the transfer matrix method and the conventional two-fluid model, a photonic band gap is observed in the transmittance spectrum. The results reveal that the cutoff frequency increases in regions with larger frequencies when both the Fibonacci sequence and pressure are increased. When increasing the temperature while keeping the sequence and pressure constant, the cutoff frequency decrease. In addition, when increasing both the sequence and thickness of the superconductor layer, new photonic band gaps are observed in the transmittance spectrum. A shift in the cutoff frequency is more noticeable when increasing the thickness of the superconductor layer than that observed when pressure is increased." @default.
