- W2938277384 abstract "Nowadays, the efficient utilization of agro-industrial by-products for conversion to a range of commercial value added bio-products, including bio-fuels, bio-chemicals, and bio-material is increases. Sago `hampas' contains mostly starch and lignocellulosic materials is a good choice to be used as a substrate in sequential step of enzymatic hydrolysis method to generate value addedfermentable sugar. Therefore, this research project focused on the recovery of glucose from starchresidue and cellulose of sago waste through the enzyme hydrolysis with different substrate loading such as 7 %, 10 % and 13 %. The commercial enzymes such as Liquozyme SC DS enzyme and Spirizyme Fuel enzyme were used to recover glucose from starch residue. Meanwhile, theCelluclast enzyme and s-glucosidase enzyme were used to recover glucose from cellulose residue. In process to analyze and evaluate the concentration of glucose generated from starch and cellulose existed in sago `hampas', the filtered supernatant was tested with iodine test, analyzed by using dinitrosalicylic acid (DNS) method, `Glucose Analyzer' and `High Performance LiquidChromatography (HPLC)'. The untreated and treated sago `hampas' was observed by using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) to show the present of starch granules in both samples. The 7 % of sago `hampas' was identified as an optimum and effective substrate loading to generatehigher glucose compare with 10 % and 13 % of substrate loading whereby the percentage of total glucose conversion were 67.22 %, 66.01 % and 62.77 % respectively. Besides, through this research other fermentable sugars such as cellobiose and xylose were identified from sago `hampas' through the same hydrolysis method." @default.
