The author grapples with the various complexities that arise from working in an Inuit community as a Qallunaaq (non-Inuit) researcher and shares some of the personal and professional choices made in the process of learning, gathering, co-creating, and sharing knowledge. Further, as a former teacher in the community, the author discusses the ways in which that identity came to bear on the work. Evolving understandings of Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, an Inuit theory of knowledge, inform research choices, methodological approaches, analysis, as well as relationships with Inuit.
