- W2943897123 abstract "Abstract Newborn with increased blood levels of bilirubin leads to hyperbilirubinemia or jaundice. It is a common condition that occurs in the first week of the newborn. Existing method requires blood samples for the detection of hyperbilirubinemia in neonates. Drawing blood from the baby causes pain and sometimes leads to psychological trauma. This study aims to provide a various methods and technologies applied to detect the level of bilirubin content in new born and thus helping doctors for early diagnosis. The neonates in the rural area really get benefitted by this method. This chapter explains the recent advancements in the diagnosis of hyperbilirubinemia in neonates using smart phone. It also provides various image processing techniques to detect the level of bilirubin content. Based on this context, the various image compression and secured data transmission techniques through mobile network were discussed briefly. This study helps us to enhance the research in the field of telemedicine technology for the early diagnose hyperbilirubinemia in neonates. This research reduces the newborns mortality rate." @default.
