- W2945403984 abstract "Herein, we present a study about the effect of microwave-assisted thermal treatment on the optical properties of Zn2GeO4 (ZGO) nanostructured films. These films were prepared using the following strategy: (i) ZGO nanorods were synthesized using the hydrothermal method, (ii) the obtained nanorods suspension was deposited on FTO substrates by casting, and (iii) the samples were microwave-annealed for 120 min at different temperatures of 250, 350 or 450 °C. These films were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD). A rhombohedral structure was obtained at all temperatures. However, there are different structural distortions in both the tetrahedral [ZnO4] and [GeO4] clusters. This change leads to alterations in the optical properties, which were characterized using ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflectance (UV–vis) and photoluminescence (PL). The results showed an interesting way to modulate some important properties for designing new optoelectronic devices." @default.
