- W2945973306 abstract "Purpose: The purpose of current study was to investigate the effects of 6 weeks resistance training (RT) with three loading patterns (pyramid, reverse pyramid & double pyramid) on maximal strength, muscular endurance, explosive power, body composition & muscular volume of female volleyball players. Methodology: This study was semi- experimental, and the design was pre- and posttest with control group. 22 volleyball players participated in this study, subjects were assigned to 1 of 4 groups according to 1RM of bench press: a control group and 3 resistance training groups with pyramid loading pattern (PLP), reverse pyramid loading pattern (RPLP) and double pyramid loading pattern (DPLP). RT groups performed resistance training in 7 stations: Bench Press, biceps curls, triceps extension, leg flexion, leg extension, and flexion, back and front lat pull down. Before and after 6 weeks, 1RM of 7 movements, skinfold fatness, body mass index, periphery of arm, waist, leg, shank and hips, muscular endurance, explosive power and agility were measured. To know statistical significance one-way ANOVA and L.S.D tests had been employed. The level of significance chosen to test the hypotheses was 0.05. Results: The overall analysis revealed that RT has significant effect on strength, explosive power of all 3 RT groups. However, Muscular endurance developed only in RPLP and DPLP groups. On the basis of results, to gain the best increase in strength double pyramid was the most effective loading pattern. Conclusion: with reference to results, RT with all three loading pattern was effective on all factors. However, the increase in some factors wasn’t significant. Double pyramid loading pattern showed best results in contrast, then Reverse pyramid was better than pyramid loading pattern. On the basis of results, we can conclude that loading pattern is another important variant in resistance training programing" @default.
