- W2949172301 abstract "Abstract Photochemical and reverse thermal reactions of monocyclic troponoid compounds in solutions have been studied at −80° to 60°. Primary photo-products of some of 2,5-disubstituted troponoids, which have an electron withdrawing group at 5-position, easily revert back to the original troponoids even below room temperature. The rate and activation energy and entropy of the reverse dark reaction closely correlate with the electron withdrawing ability of substituents at 5-position. The photo-products have been identified as bicyclo(3,2,0)hepta-3,6-dien-2-ones on spectral grounds. Mechanisms of the reactions are discussed." @default.
