- W2949202937 abstract "Carbanions bearing a leaving group in the α position can react as electrophiles. They couple with organolithium or Grignard reagents to give a new organomctallic compound. The iteration of the process, which would generally lead to a series of homologous products, is circumvented if the organomctallic formed can undergo a fast intramolecular reaction. Accordingly, various alkenes, including vinylic halides, enol ethers or thioethers could be easily and efficiently obtained. This electrophilic behaviour of anionic species is not limited to carbanions; examples of electrophilic amination or hydroxylation based on this unexpected reactivity are also reported. @default.
