- W295058610 abstract "Objective:To explore the effects of essential hypertension on left atrial structure and function.Methods:According to JNC7 diagnostic criteria of hypertension and left ventricular mass index,the subjects were divided into three groups:essential hypertension group(n=38) without left ventricular hypertrophy,essential hypertension group(n=32) with left ventricular hypertrophy and healthy control group(n=30).The indexes that were related with left atrial structure and function were measured by echocardiography.Results:LVMI,Tei,LAD,LAVmax and LARV in the control group were significantly lower than those in other two groups(P0.01～0.05).LVMI,Tei and LAVmin in patients with left ventricular hypertrophy were significantly higher than those without left ventricular hypertrophy(P0.05).Conclusion:Left atrial reconstruction may occur before left ventricular hypertrophy.Along with the development of hypertension,left atrial function becomes decompensation gradually.Working elevation and structural changes of left atrial may indicate the abnormality of its diastolic function in the earlier stage." @default.
