- W2952927565 abstract "Abstract In this study, electrochemical techniques were employed to explore the synergistic inhibition capacity of Chicory leaves extract (CLE) extract combined with zinc ions (Zn) against mild steel (MS) corrosion in subjection to chloride ions containing aggressive electrolyte. Also, the inhibitors adsorptivity on MS substrate was approved by molecular-scale simulations (Density functional theory (DFT), Monte Carlo (MC) and Molecular dynamics (MD)). Results from electrochemical techniques revealed the effective synergic corrosion inhibition impact of CLE extract (100 ppm) blended with Zn (100 ppm). The combination of the organic/inorganic corrosion inhibitors showed mixed inhibition action and yielded maximum inhibition power of 96%. Additionally, computational studies demonstrated the adsorption of studied inhibitors on the MS surface through interactions on the donor-acceptor mechanism." @default.
