- W2955289110 abstract "The paper highlights one of the main directions of the national policy of pedagogical education development in Singapore, which today is one of the most recognized world leaders. On the one hand, the professional training of teachers in Singapore is based on traditional national principles; on the other hand, it focuses on the international labor market, training of world-class experts. It is emphasized that it is essential to conscious the role of a teacher in the education and upbringing of a new generation, able to be competing in the world labor market. The historical aspect of the establishment of the National Institute of Education of Singapore as the only specialized educational institution for the training of highly skilled pedagogical staff is presented. The guarantee that the teachers become qualified specialists is provided by a comprehensive system of selection of candidates, which includes: internships within the school during five weeks; compliance with the qualification requirements; passing of functional tests and assessment of literacy and interviewing; receiving primary education at the National Institute of Education.The training of future teachers is based on three different initial pedagogical programs that allow applicants to qualify (or certify) for work in Singaporean schools, taking into account the Competences of the XXI Century defined in Singapore. In the system of teacher training, an important role belongs to pedagogical practice, which is a compulsory component of the process of professional training of future teachers, and an important stage in their professional development. Upon graduation, all beginner teachers gain entrance support, in accordance with the relevant programs of the Ministry of Education of Singapore, and are designed to adapt them to the content of the training and the needs of the schools." @default.
