- W2961497166 abstract "Abstract This study aims to assess the techno-economic feasibility of a hybrid photovoltaic (PV)/diesel/battery power system for a housing estate located on the outskirts of Harbin, a city in the Heilongjiang province of northeastern China. The optimization, economic, electricity output, emissions, and sensitivity analyses of the proposed systems are all analyzed using Hybrid Optimization Model for Electric Renewables software. The results indicate that the hybrid PV/diesel/battery system is cost-optimal in the considered systems, while the diesel generator -only system is the least economical. The optimal system comprising 500 kWp PV arrays, two diesel generators with a rated power of 1250 kW, 600 batteries, and a 500 kW sized converter provides the lowest total net present cost of $8,162,822 and a levelized cost of energy of 0.480 $/kWh with a renewable fraction of 57%. In addition, it is found that the hybrid PV/diesel/battery system can significantly reduce the emission of pollutants over its lifetime compared to other feasible systems, particularly diesel generator-only systems. The hybrid PV/diesel/battery system is therefore a good alternative energy schemes for housing estates in Harbin replacement for diesel-powered generators." @default.
