- W2962711220 abstract "Nanostructured materials with different morphology and size possess novel physical and chemical properties. In this paper, a net-like AgCl-Ag/g-C3N4 composite photocatalyst with a strong-coupling interface was prepared via a three-step synthetic method, including the supramolecular assembly to generate silver-melamine nanowires, following high-temperature calcination to form Ag/g-C3N4 and further in-situ reoxidation of metallic Ag into AgCl to produce AgCl-Ag/g-C3N4. The net-like structure of the AgCl-Ag/g-C3N4 composite can be attributed to the crosslinking of Ag-melamine nanowires from melamine molecules bonded to Ag atoms. The photocatalytic degradation activity of methyl orange (MO) showed that all the resultant AgCl-Ag/g-C3N4 samples displayed an enhanced degradation performance. The highest degradation rate of AgCl-Ag/g-C3N4 was superior to those of g-C3N4 and Ag/g-C3N4 by factors of 126.0 and 5.4 times, respectively. The improved photocatalytic activity of AgCl-Ag/g-C3N4 can be mainly attributed to the net-like structure of AgCl-Ag/g-C3N4 composite with a strong-coupling interface among the three phases (AgCl, Ag and g-C3N4), which allows a rapid transfer of the photogenerated electron-hole pairs. This study provides a new approach in the preparation of high-performance composite photocatalysts with a strong-coupling interface." @default.
