- W2962784685 abstract "Modulation Transfer Function and Point Spread Function relationships between components of a conceptual imager were evaluated during optical system engineering applications. Full width half maximum of the flux density point spread function and relative edge response were used for predicting imaging quality performance on the contrast transfer. FWHM of flux density PSF and RER are calculated as 1.7 pixel displacement and 0.2541 for modulation transfer function of a conceptual imager with obscured aperture geometry and contiguous CCD array detector operating in PAN band. MTF sub-components are established to predict system modulation transfer quality of the imaging satellite. MTF model consists of diffraction limit for aperture geometry function, wave front error caused degradation, sampling and detector footprint for contiguous focal-plane array detector architecture. To predict the line of sight stability budget linear motion error and jitter error degraded contrast transfer quality functions are evaluated. 0.4 μrad jitter value expands flux density PSF FWHM by 1.9 pixel displacement and degrades RER to 0.2224 while linear motion error of 8 mrad/s expands flux density PSF FWHM by 1.5 pixel displacement and degrades RER to 0.2501. FWHM of flux density PSF expansion of 0.5 pixel displacement and 0.2212 RER are observed for 0.2λ wavefront error input value. MTFC Kernel with 3.5 noise gain increased the RER value FWHM of flux density PSF to 0.2680 and 0.3 pixel displacement." @default.
