- W2966319792 abstract "Growing commercial acceptance of electric vehicles (EV) resulted in increased focus on the development of technologies associated with it. This includes research on vehicle charging systems, traction inverters and motors, transmission systems, cooling mechanisms to name a few. Preferred choices of motors in EV are induction motors and permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM). Unlike PMSM induction motor is not dependent on rare earth magnets, which is an added advantage. In induction motor drives, one of the most researched topics is on extending the speed range of the motor and for over-base speed operation. Dodecagonal space vector structure allows extension of speed range also suppresses lower order harmonics more effectively compared to conventional hexagonal space vector structures. The speed range can be further increased by operating in over-modulation region. Linearization of over-modulation for dodecagonal space vector structure is presented in this paper. Linearization of over-modulation operation further improves the performance at higher speeds, while retain the advantages such as linearit, inherent harmonic suppression of dodecagonal space vector structure." @default.
