- W296845838 abstract "This chapter presents some remarks on locomotion. It presents some experimental evidence for the description of the intraspinal generator of stepping in the cat in terms of a modified Graham Browns model of reciprocal half-centers. Inhibitory interaction between two half-centers occurs mainly at the level of interneurons of pathways from the flexor reflex afferents. These afferents probably control transition from the stance to swing phase, while group I muscle afferents may be responsible for adaptation of muscle forces to load during the stance phase under natural conditions. Renshaw cells (RC) may be considered as inhibitory motoneurons of invertebrates without axons supplying the muscle but with their intracentral connections. It is stated that RC and Ia inhibitory interneurons are rather the output of the generator and basic process occurs farther from motoneurons." @default.
