Tarim Basin, as one of the most petroliferous basin in the northwest China, has been known for the notoriously deep well conditions, including high pressure and high temperature. In this context, VSP applications are greatly limited by the bearing capacity of conventional geophones. Alternatively, DAS technique displays its superiority in good adaption to complex environment. In order to target oil and gas reservoirs with deep burial and complex features, a Walkaway-VSP technique is employed to confront the undesired well conditions, which is based on joint observation by DAS and geophones. This study first compares VSP data respectively recorded by DAS and geophones, then discusses the processing method, and finally obtains a high-precision imaging profile, which lays a solid foundation for the later comprehensive geological research.Presentation Date: Tuesday, September 17, 2019Session Start Time: 1:50 PMPresentation Time: 1:50 PMLocation: 221CPresentation Type: OralKeywords: DAS (distributed acoustic sensors), acquisition, borehole geophysicsPermalink: https://doi.org/10.1190/segam2019-3214449.1FiguresReferencesRelatedDetailsCited byDownhole Monitoring Using Distributed Acoustic Sensing: Fundamentals and Two Decades Deployment in Oil and Gas Industries21 March 2022Low‐Magnitude Seismicity With a Downhole Distributed Acoustic Sensing Array—Examples From the FORGE Geothermal Experiment29 December 2020 | Journal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Vol. 126, No. 1 SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts 2019ISSN (print):1052-3812 ISSN (online):1949-4645Copyright: 2019 Pages: 5407 publication data© 2019 Published in electronic format with permission by the Society of Exploration GeophysicistsPublisher:Society of Exploration Geophysicists HistoryPublished Online: 10 Aug 2019 CITATION INFORMATION Cai Zhidong, Wang Shize, Liu Wei, Li Fei, Wang Chong, Ma Liuyi, and Li Qing, (2019), Application of Walkaway-VSP based on joint observation by DAS and geophones in the Tarim Basin, northwest China, SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts : 974-978. https://doi.org/10.1190/segam2019-3214449.1 Plain-Language Summary KeywordsDAS (distributed acoustic sensors)acquisitionborehole geophysicsPDF DownloadLoading ..." @default.
