- W2969794923 abstract "Gas-liquid interface shows obvious disturbance characteristics in horizontal wavy and annular flow. The study of the characteristic parameters of interfacial disturbance wave is significant for understanding the gas-liquid two-phase flow. In this paper, using the ultrasonic echo resonance main frequency (UERMF) method, the non-contact measurement experiments are carried out to measure the liquid film thickness of gas-liquid wavy and annular flow in a 50 mm diameter horizontal pipe. Then the disturbance wave velocity is obtained by cross-correlation method under 220 different experimental conditions for pressures ranging from 0.1 MPa to 0.7 MPa, the superficial velocity of gas and liquid ranging from 10 m/s to 35 m/s and 0.006 m/s to 0.6 m/s, respectively. The experimental results are compared with existing predictive wave velocity correlations such as Marmottant correlation, Schubring correlation, etc. As a result, the existing correlations have certain limitations on reflecting the disturbance wave variation in both wavy and annular flows, and are also not applicable to high pressures. Considering all these factors, a new modified disturbance wave velocity correlation is proposed which satisfies horizontal wavy, annular flow and high pressure system. Besides, the new correlation is compared with all the experimental data in this paper and existing correlations in the references. The mean absolute error (MAE) is less than 15%, which verifies the extrapolation and applicability of the new interfacial disturbance wave velocity correlation." @default.
