- W2970477681 abstract "Abstract Radiological techniques can be useful for advancing human life. In addition, basic knowledge of radiation–material interactions is essential for furthering the fundamental science. Understanding the effects of radiation on various materials is very important for determining the durability of materials exposed to radiation and providing information about decomposition due to radiation–material interactions. In particular, the effects caused by heavy-ion particles are of special interest. Heavy-ion particles exert much larger impulses on the orbital electrons of molecules in a target material, causing excitations and ionizations. The impulses lead to the production of secondary electrons. Free radicals formed by the interaction with these secondary electrons can exhibit a profound dependence on the particle type and energy. Therefore, the radical production can be useful as an indicator of heavy-ion exposure." @default.
