• W2970651636 abstract "Objective: This study aimed to examine test-retest reliability and concurrent validity of an Arabic translated version of the MFIS (A-MFIS) in people with multiple sclerosis. Background: The Modified Fatigue Impact scale (MFIS) is a valid tool for fatigue assessment in people with multiple sclerosis. The reliability and concurrent validity of an Arabic translated version of the scale has not been tested. Design/Methods: The English version of the MFIS was translated into Arabic and then a detailed analysis of the psychometric properties of the translated version of the MFIS was conducted. Concurrent validity was assessed by comparing measures of balance and mobility (Berg Balance Scale and the Arabic version of the Activities-Specific Balance Confidence scale), depression (Beck Depression Inventory-II), and quality of life (the Arabic Short Form-36) to A-MFIS. Results: 72 patients participated in the study (mean ± SD, 36.02±9.19 years). The Arabic MFIS (A-MFIS) was completed by all participants (mean ± SD, 43.34±19.89). Significant moderate to large correlations were found between the A-MFIS total score and the measures of balance, depression and quality of life (P Conclusions: A-MFIS has high reliability and concurrent validity with other measures of balance, depression and quality of life in multiple sclerosis patients.
