The result shows that the multilayer Ti <sub xmlns:mml=http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML xmlns:xlink=http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink>3</sub> C <sub xmlns:mml=http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML xmlns:xlink=http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink>2</sub> T <sub xmlns:mml=http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML xmlns:xlink=http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink>x</sub> MXene, a metallike material, can be used to produce a strong SPR signal and further applied to detect the change in refractive index of sensing medium. Comparing to the conventional SPR sensor based on Au thin film (50 nm) at the visible range, the FOM of the proposed MXene-based SPR sensor has been improved by 7.8 times. Our study demonstrates that the multilayer Ti <sub xmlns:mml=http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML xmlns:xlink=http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink>3</sub> C <sub xmlns:mml=http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML xmlns:xlink=http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink>2</sub> T <sub xmlns:mml=http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML xmlns:xlink=http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink>x</sub> MXene can be developed as a new surface plasmon polariton (SPP) material to apply in SPR sensor." @default.
