- W2971326306 abstract "Abstract Lithium borate (LB) glasses with compositions (mol%) 30 Li2O −70 B2O3 and lithium tetraboarte (Li2B4O7) were prepared by conventional melt quenched technique. Thermoluminescence (TL) behavior of the glass systems with selective dopants namely transition metal ions (TM) and rare earth (RE) such as CuO, EuO and Dy2O3 at a concentration (0.5 wt%) were studied after gamma irradiation. TL measurements showed maximum response in Dy2O3 doped LB glasses with a linear dose response in the range of 0.25–5 kGy. Kinetic parameters were investigated for Dy2O3 doped LB glasses to understand TL characteristics. Electron and hole pair generation upon irradiation was confirmed from EPR study and the results were correlated with TL emission to propose its probable mechanism in 30 Li2O–70 B2O3 glass system. The results suggested potential of LB glasses to measure high radiation dose useful for food irradiation and materials processing for industries." @default.
