Thus, we used two types of gases: inert (N2) and reactive (O2), at diverse pressures in order to detect the possible differences when drilling with one or other gas, and to quantify the influence of the assistant gas and pressure.Shallow holes were produced in slate tiles using a 1 kW Nd:YAG pulsed laser focused onto the surface.
