- W2978606585 abstract "The purpose of this study was to investigate the change of heart rate(HR) and heart rate variability(HRV) of male college students during sub-maximal isometric voluntary contractions(SIVC) after chronic eccentric strength training.The training group(TG) was submitted to eccentric strength training(10 weeks,3 days/week,2～4 sets of 8～12 repetitions at 75%～80% peak torque(PT).The control group(CG) did not perform eccentric strength training.The HR and the HRV(LF and HF) were evaluated during SIVC of the knee extension(15,30 and 40% of PT).The result of this study showed that ST increased the eccentric torque only and the duration of SIVC in TG(P0.05).During SIVC,the HR response pattern and the HRV were similar for both groups in pre-and post-training evaluations(P0.05).We can draw a conclusion that although ST increased the eccentric torque and the duration of SIVC in the TG,it did not generate changes on the autonomic control of HR." @default.
