In particular, gain uniformity and photoelectron extraction dependence on geometry and electric field configuration have been studied. These results are reported and discussed. They improve the understanding of the Thick GEM properties by novel measurements and confirmation of previous indirect measurements and they answer to relevant questions related to their use as photocathode substrates in novel gaseous photon detectors." @default.
