Yet, not all managerial challenges have already been tackled especially when the challenge of virtual cooperation is concerned which comes along with modern information and telecommunication technologies. This paper concentrates on the exploitation of cultural diversity with regard to innovation management. Within the framework of a team structure approach, innovative behavior and the heterogeneity of teams are analyzed and concluded upon for further managerial practice across borders and cultures. After a brief introduction into theoretical approaches that cover innovation processes and organizational team behavior, the authors link both strands to investigate cross-cultural teamwork with regard to its effects on individual creativity and group-based innovation output.
