• W2980329963 abstract "The purchase of goods and contracting services costs the public coffers more than 600 billion reais annually. This amount, spent by the federal government, refers to approximately 15% of the Brazilian GDP [16]. Through this scenario, one must analyze the importance of driving the purchasing power of the public sector to obtain goods and services, under the application of sustainability requirements in the generation of environmental improvements. In 2012, a standardization of criteria, guidelines, and practices was established as of the publication of Decree 7,746 to promote sustainable national development in contracting by public administration. Therefore, this qualitative and quantitative study, whose objectives are part of an exploratory research, has the purpose of evaluating the different sustainability requirements employed in the edicts and respective Terms of Reference developed and used by Cefet/RJ for the acquisition of goods and contracting services, in accordance with Normative Instruction 01/2010. The study showed, therefore, that the environmental requirements requested in the bidding instruments were gradually being incorporated during the year 2017; however, it is clear the need to implement changes in order to institutionalize the practice of sustainable public procurement in Cefet/RJ." @default.
