- W2989245795 abstract "High entropy alloys are known for their excellent mechanical and wear-resistant properties. The main objective is to incorporate the concept of high entropy alloys in the manufacturing of golf club head to enhance the compressive strength, impact strength, hardness and wear-resistant properties. An equiatomic, multi-principal elements were processed to form AlCuFeNiCr high entropy alloy using permanent metal mould casting technique. Mechanical tests were conducted and studied. Pin-on-disc wear test was conducted to determine wear rate using L9 orthogonal array. Results proved that AlCuFeNiCr alloy exhibits superior mechanical and wear-resistant properties compared to other golf club heads which are processed using conventional alloys. Influences of input parameters on output parameters using Minitab software were studied. Scanning electron microscope, energy-dispersive spectroscopy and optical microscope were utilized to study microstructure, elemental composition and worn surfaces, respectively. BCC phase was noticed which conveys better hardness properties." @default.
