- W2989615458 abstract "Abstract Hexavalent chromium ion (Cr(VI)) is one of the most toxic contaminants with high carcinogenicity that can modify the DNA transcription process causing severe chromosomic aberration. Considering the high solubility and migration of Cr(VI) in biological and environmental systems, it is of great practical significance to develop a cheap, sensitive and portable method for the detection of Cr(VI). Here, a kind of isomorphous crystalline materials were synthesized for electrochemical detection of Cr(VI) with the formulas of [HC5H6N2]6{M[Mo6O12(OH)3(HPO4)3(H2PO4)]2}·nH2O (M = Co/Ni/Cd; n = 2/3). Experimental results indicated that such well-structure crystals have good performance towards the electrochemical detection Cr(VI). Among them, Co-containing compound displays the most remarkable detection activity for Cr(VI) with a wide linear concentration range from 0.5–378 μM, a low detection limit of 0.026 μM (0.0027 ppm), a fast response time of 1 s, and a high sensitivity of 244 μA mM−1, respectively. These parameters are superior to most of the noble metal catalysts and satisfy the detection requirement of the WHO. This work provides a cheap and convenient method for detecting high-toxic Cr(VI) in practical environmental water system." @default.
