From the study of the creation in 2010 of a Moroccan edition of the Qur’an, which differs from others in its recitation method (warš), calligraphic style (maġribī) and the foliage compositions surrounding the text, this article aims to examine how aesthetic, political and religious norms inflect economic action, and vice versa.
