- W2990139809 abstract "The signals used in telecommunication systems have a high peak-to-average power ratio. To increase the efficiency of power amplifiers of such signals, an envelope tracking method can be applied. In this case, an envelope tracking power supply (ETPS) can be implemented on the basis of a multi-cell switched-mode power amplifier. This allows not only to partially compensate non-linear distortions associated with the use of the switch mode, but also to expand the ETPS bandwidth by increasing the number of cells. It is noted that in the case when output power of a single cell is limited, the possibility of increasing the output power can be regarded as an important advantage of a multi-cell power amplifier. It is emphasized that the increase in number of cells leads to the raise of the mass and dimensions of ETPS. The main factors that limit the multi-cell ETPS bandwidth are noted in the paper. These include errors in synchronization of cells control signals and dispersion in the implementation of the LPF inductances. The influence of these factors leads to significant increase in side spectra at frequencies that are multiples of the sampling frequency. Recommendations on choosing the rational number of cells, that will allow us to show up all the multi-cell ETPS’s advantages, are given." @default.
