The research engine was modified to have changeable fuel injection system. The in-house built PECU was capable of producing 3 consecutive injection pulses. Fuel pressure was adjusted between 500 bar to 1100 bar. Engine with electronically controlled fuel injection system produced less NOx than original engine approximately 50%.
