A contaminacao do solo pode ser dissipada para os alimentos, para o ar e para os lencois freaticos. Em virtude destes possiveis efeitos, este trabalho teve por objetivo analisar alguns atributos do solo de uma area agricola de forma a determinar a vulnerabilidade aos efeitos de contaminantes. Foram avaliados os atributos: textura, materia orgânica e pH, alem da concentracao de metais pesados nas amostras de solo. Tres componentes principais foram gerados para explicar 99,30% da variância no experimento. A analise de componentes principais indicou que as concentracoes de cadmio, cromo, niquel, chumbo, cobre e as porcentagens de areia e silte apresentaram boa correlacao com os pontos de amostragens selecionados, indicando as possiveis areas de contaminacao. Da caracterizacao granulometrica e quantidade de materia orgânica, o solo possui baixa eficiencia para retencao de residuos de agrotoxicos. Os valores de pH encontrados nao foram um fator limitante ao bom desenvolvimento das plantas. Das concentracoes de metais pesados, o cadmio foi o unico que apresentou niveis acima do permitido pela legislacao. ABSTRACT The soil is one of the main environmental components, has the function of supporting various life forms, among them, the plants, serving as a substrate for their growth and dissemination. Soil contamination can be dissipated to food, air and groundwater. Due to these possible effects, this work aimed to analyze some soil attributes of an agricultural area in order to determine the vulnerability to the effects of contaminants. The attributes: texture, organic matter and pH, as well as the concentration of heavy metals in the soil samples were evaluated. Three main components were generated to explain 99.30% of the variance in the experiment. Principal component analysis indicated that cadmium, chromium, nickel, lead, copper and sand and silt percentages showed a good correlation with the selected sampling points, indicating possible contamination areas. From the particle size characterization and amount of organic matter, the soil has low efficiency for retention of pesticide residues. The pH values found were not a limiting factor to the good development of the plants. Of the heavy metal concentrations, cadmium was the only one that presented levels above that allowed by the legislation.
