- W2995466097 abstract "HPV VCR are low in France with only 29.4 % of girls born in 2003 who received at least 1 dose of HPV vaccine. In a context of growing vaccine hesitancy, it is important to define and assess relevant indicators regarding VCR and to follow their evolution. As estimates published by Health Authorities focus only on cumulative VCR by cohort of birth, the PAPILLON study aimed to estimate HPV VCR from 2017 to 2022 using the French National claims database through several indicators: age-specific initiation rates, full schemes, and cumulative VCR. All patients recorded in the claims database who initiated HPV vaccine in 2017 were included. Calculations of annual HPV vaccine initiation rates and cumulative VCR at a given age were carried out on girls aged between 11 and 19 at the time of first vaccination. Partial scheme was defined by the dispensing of at least one dose of HPV vaccine, while full scheme was defined by two or three dispensing of doses over a 12-month period, according to current French recommendations. Among the 185,452 women who initiated HPV vaccination in 2017 (mean and median age: 14.0), the peak was reached at 12 years old (9.0%). Cumulative VCR for partial scheme at 15 years was 28.4% in 2017. It reached 41.8% in 2017 at 20 years old, and 57.8% at 24 years old. Cumulative VCR for full scheme (at 12 months) reached 14.8, 26.0 and 37.3% in 15, 20 and 25 years old, respectively. Thanks to large cohort sizes, the French claims database enables to precisely assess HPV VCR in 2017. Longitudinal follow-up will provide updates of these VCR until 2022. Identifying the factors associated with the poor acceptance of HPV vaccination in France will be of interest." @default.
