- W2995985926 abstract "Abstract Fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) has become a powerful tool for visualizing molecular interactions, single-molecule conformational dynamics, binding, and other molecular signaling events. However, until recently, FRET spectroscopy/microscopy has been mainly used for monitoring single events. Recent pursuits on simultaneous detection and analysis of multiple analytes have led to the development of various FRET-based multiplexed techniques. The concomitant increase in the experimental complexity and data analysis due to the use of multiple donors/acceptor pairs and multiple excitation sources have proven to be the major challenges for rapid expansion of these techniques. In this review, we will focus on recent applications of FRET-based multiplexed techniques using coupled chromophore platforms composed of organic dyes, quantum dots (QDs), lanthanides, and fluorescent proteins, and discuss some of the current challenges that need to be addressed to further expand their applications in this new exciting area." @default.
