- W2996860314 abstract "Abstract This article represents a theoretical calculation for the spin-Hamiltonian (or EPR) parameters (zero-field splitting D and g factors g//, g⊥) of the tetragonal V3+ tetrahedral center in Y3Al5O12 (YAG): V3+ crystal (which is a widely-used solid state saturable absorber in diode pumped compact laser systems) with the high-order perturbation formulas founded on the two-spin-orbit-parameter (of dn ion and that of ligand ion) model. In the calculation, some parameters used are obtained from its optical spectra and the tetragonal crystal field parameters are analyzed from the superposition model, so only one adjustable parameter is needed. The calculated results agree reasonably with the observed values. The defect structure related mainly to the impurity-caused angular distortions in this V3+ center in YAG: V3+ crystal is also estimated. The outcomes are discussed." @default.
