- W2997643005 abstract "Epithelial cadherin (cadherin E, CD144) helps to maintain the polarity of endothelial cells and controlof vascular permeability. VE-cadherin mediates the adhesion between endothelial cells, affects vascular morphogenesis, participates in the maintenance of connections between endothelial cells and the structural continuity of the vascular endothelium. The study included 32 patients with ischemic stroke who were evaluated in terms of factors predisposing to vascular diseases and the neurological condition in subsequent control stages. The control group consisted of 14 patients. The number of CD144+ stem cells and lymphocytes in venous blood was evaluated in the 1st, 3rd and 8th days of stroke using flow cytometry. The study protocol has been positively evaluated by the Bioethics Committee. Received results were analyzed statistically. The number of CD144+ cells in the study group on the first day was: 472.10, on the third: 472.10, on the eighth: 330.29, and in the control group: 3860.00. The number of CD45+ cells (leukocytes) in the study group on the first day was: 1310452.58, on the third: 241417.81, on the eighth: 270477.83, and in the control group: 351670.83. The ratio of CD144+ cells to CD45+ cells on the first day of ischemic stroke was 0.001350, on the third: 0.002518 and on the eighth: 0.001597. In the control group: 0.002972. The highest number of CD144+ cells in relation to all leukocytes was found in the study group on the third day. On the remaining days of the evaluation, the number of CD144+ / WBC cells was almost two times smaller." @default.
