The phase constitution, powder morphology and electronic transfer or interaction of the synthesized WMo solid solution alloys were characterized by SEM, XRD, TEM, EDS, XPS and first-principle CASTEP calculation. The experimental results confirmed that W and Mo were evenly distributed in the solid solution nanopowders. Also, with the increasing Mo content, both experimental and theoretical results verified that the formation of solid solution led to a decrease of lattice parameter and an electronic transfer from Mo to W." @default.
