- W2999611954 abstract "A physically-based model is proposed to describe the Buried Multiple Junction (BMJ) detector operated in high-voltage conditions. There is a breakdown voltage shift when two adjacent junctions’ depletion regions merge, i.e. in reach-through (RT) condition. The model detects whether adjacent junctions are in RT condition, in which case the electrostatic potential exhibits a potential barrier modulated by junctions’ bias. A thermionic current flowing through the barrier may become predominant as breakdown current. Model computations are compared with TCAD simulations and I-V measurements. The concordance on the results confirms that thermionic emission is the predominant breakdown mechanism in the BMJ structure." @default.
