- W3003363461 abstract "Headland is identified as potential tidal current energy extraction sites. The complex flow circulation at headland initiated a high-resolution Tg Tuan Headland numerical model in this research. Assessment on potential and impact of tidal energy exploitation was conducted through detail assessment for different zones and depths around the headland. The simulated results show that tip of the headland can be a promising site for tidal energy converter deployment fulfilling the depth and flow velocity requirement for marine current energy turbine operation. Further analysis on depth influence to tidal energy converter deployment based on eight different scenarios showed descending relationship between depth effects and velocity changes. The velocity changes due to tidal turbine deployment at deeper area (28.41 m–31.64 m) are much insignificant (<0.001 m/s) than shallower area. The finding from this study indicated the importance of headland zone and depth criterion selection for policy maker and investors." @default.
