- W3003644108 abstract "Aim The main aim of this study was to find out standardizedmethod for preventive stenting of biliary tract anastomosiswith biodegradable self-expandable stent from polydioxanone andevaluate function of the stent. Materials and methods Thisexperimental study was performed in four pigs with follow up ofeight weeks. Procedure was done under general anesthesia. Thefunction of the stent was verified by by clinical stage, bloodtest, magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography and necropsy. Results Our duodenum sparing technique was described in detailand photographically documented. All pigs finished follow upwithout clinical, laboratory or radiologic signs of biliaryobstruction. Necropsy did not reveal complication of theprocedure or anastomotic stricture. Conclusions In conclusionthis study demonstrated simple new duodenum sparing method oftransanastomotic insertion of biodegradable self-expandablestent from polydioxanone. We did not find any complicationduring follow up. This method will be used in our follow upstudy with extended experimental a control group of animals andlonger follow up to verify the preventive function of thisstent." @default.
