- W3004605537 abstract "In the present work we consider the case of chemically peculiar HgMn stars. Several observations show that some HgMn stars present a monoperiodic photometric variation ( Alecian et al. 2009, Morel et al. 2013). So, one problem is to check if this variation, which seems intrinsic to the star, is population or a rotational modulation. Theoretical studies show that MgMn stars could have pulsations in the same type as SPB type stars although HgMn stars are very marginally in the SPB instability strip. On the other hand, observed periods (about one to four days) are also compatible with a rotational modulation, of some authors propose that they could be related to superficial spots. The aim of this thesis is to study further the observed photometric variations in these stars known to have stratified abundances, ad especially HgMn stars, by improving the analysis of the light curves provided to CoRoT, then by considering additional measures to those already published. The thesis is composed of a part devoted to the development of a new method, and by the application of it to the corrections of light curves provided by CoRoT. This thesis is also composed by a work corresponding to an attempt in detecting granulation signal from the bright HgMn stars. Finally, the thesis contains a statistical study of abundance anomalies measured at the surface of HgMn stars and published after 1993. The observed scatter appears not to be due to measurement errors, and this is an important observational fact for theoretical modeling." @default.
